Review of Jungle Strikes Volume 13 by Wicka & Mavrik

 In Reviews

Wicka (aka Wickaman) and Mavrik’s Give me Fever and Kill ‘Em with your Know is out as Jungle Strikes Volume 13. Another Junglistic Banger of a release.

Track 1 – Give Me Fever

Sampling the original Peggy Lee Track “Fever” this track is going to be massive. The ambient intro with a pan pipe vibe sets the mood nicely and give the start of the track a kind of Jungle does Cafe Del Mar vibe to it, as the lyrics drop in, they’ve got an element of some of Finley Quaye’s better dance remixes. Rolling beats and a big old bassline soon shatter the ambience and take the track up to Planet Jungle. The vocals drop in and out as old bassline rips through you and the old school synthy bassline keeps the pace. A summer smasher, rolling it’s way through a classic sample to give it a whole new vibe.

Track 2 – Kill ‘Em with Your Know

A classic gets the remix treatment, it’s hard to mess this one up – the vocal is just so strong and they’ve done it justice. Keeping it clean and rolling with some tougher beats. Chuck some lilting reggae keys into the mix for good measure and you’ve got a festival sure thing. Bound to be getting spun across the world at festivals needing some fresh sounding jungle to keep everyone upbeat. Happy Summery Jungle, what more could you want in life.
