A quick guide to this Summer’s Festivals that feature a bit of Jungle amidst the never endingly eclectic music that we love to get muddy too. They are in chronological order from the end of April to
Big Love Festival
29th April – 2nd May
Hay – On – Wye
A Small and boutique looking festival but with an underground edge. They have the old Skool legends Fantazia hosting a room and bringing you Easygroove (for some Techno dread business),
Kenny Ken and Shades of Rhythm.
Also randomly Wrong Tom meets the Ragga Twins and they will be performing some pre Jungle reggae ragga madness with a live band (I think). Looks amazing always nice to see Raggas representing their broad musical influence.
Blissfields
1st & 2nd July
Vicarage Farm, Winchester
Serial Killaz, SHY Fx and Roni Size with Dynamite MC will be representing Jungle DnB.
Electric Castle
July 14th – 17th
Romania
Not a massive Jungle presence, but Congo Natty and General Levy will be joining the huge and slightly odd line-up. From Skrillez to the Bastille stopping of at Camo & Krooked. But if it gets Jungle out to Romania then why not!
Summer Gathering 2016
July 29th 0 31st
Castle Donnington
The Massive Summer Gathering return to the home of one of the most infamous raves of all time. Castle Donnington. Jungle Mania will be in full effect hosting an arena, the line-up hasn’t been released yet but you know it will be back to back original Junglist all stars.
Boom Bap Festival
29th – 31st July
Mildenhall Stadium
Suffolk
A quick mention of the increasingly popular Boom Bap festival. It’s 90{c677f8d1c17564a56c503e01be8f588995c5f36b5bc5ff935a383d6667989752} Hip Hop. But this year they’ve included a little Jungle for your pleasure. In the form of Kenny Ken and Benny Page. Not a bad start and we look forward to announcing much more next year as these two tear the roof of the place (is there a roof?)
BoomTown
11th – 14th August
Hampshire
The never endingly insane Boomtown fair returns for the summer dose of messy festival madness. This years sees a Massive range of Jungle artists playing on a load of different stage.
The Lion’s Den sees some heavy hitters with Ed Solo and Benny Page playing back to back. While The Heatwave presents features General Levy, Skibadee and Demolition Man.
Bang Hai Palace has Aries and Born on road playing as well as Jungle syndicate. While Trenchtown has Congo Natty and Tenor Fly as well as the unstoppable Uncle Dugs playing a Jungle Renaissance Rinse FM Set.
That’s a whole lot of Jungle to keep you happy!
Outlook Festival
1st Sept – 4th Sept
Croatia
The unstoppable Outlook festival returns to Croatia for another 4 days of Bass madness. Jungle and DnB from Goldie, Hazard, Doc Scott, Logistics, Andy C and more.
Bestival
8th – 11th September
Robin Hill Country Park
Isle of Wight
Bestival always has the odd smattering of Jungle in amongst it’s line up. But this year it’s taken things in a random direction and announced that Rob Da Bank (the creator of Bestival) will be playing a History of Jungle and DnB with Aled Jones.
Yes.
Aled Jones from the Snowman’s “Walking in the air”. More well known for presenting Songs of Praise and touring Cathedrals than hosting a Jungle set.
It happened after Aled showed of his MC skillz on Classic FM’s Capital XTRA’s Takeover for Make Some Noise. “we couldn’t miss the opportunity for him to be the microphone controller when he teams up with our own Rob Da Bank, who’ll be on the ones and twos”. The world has possibly gone mad.
Alongside the usual crazy line up of Live Music, there is Shy Fx’s part on the moon and a Hospitality stage. But just don’t miss the choral Jungle madness of Aled and Rob Da Bank.
Tranz-Mission
25th Sept
Finsbury Park, London
Looking set to be the big outdoor rave of the Summer. The legendary Slammin Vinyl guys take on Finsbury Park with One Nation, Raindance, Kool FM, Jungle Fever and more. No line-up yet but you know it’s going to be Jungle Heavy with those names behind it.
Check the website for updates, don’t miss it. It’s going to be a monster!
