Mampi Swift
Mampi Swift is a true drum & bass pioneer, a producer and DJ whose influence on the scene stretches back to the early 1990s. He began DJing in 1990, cutting his teeth at the legendary Lucky Spin records, where proximity to a studio and an in-house engineer gave him the perfect environment to learn production. Early releases quickly found homes on respected labels like Suburban Base, True Playaz, Trouble On Vinyl, and Frontline, establishing Swift as a formidable talent in the emerging DnB movement.
In 1997, he launched Charge Recordings, a label that would become a powerhouse of drum & bass. Hits like The One, Hi Tek, Touch of J, Jaws, and Trippin solidified his reputation, while the label nurtured the next generation of talent, including Fresh, Friction, Blame, Sigma, and Gridlok. Charge Recordings has remained a beacon for quality drum & bass and a platform for innovation.
Behind the decks, Mampi Swift is equally influential. A master of the double-drop technique, his sets are high-energy, precise, and unforgettable, earning him headline slots across the UK, Europe, and the US. His presence in the DJ booth is central to the rhythm and flow of any lineup, making him a driving force in both underground and festival settings.
After a brief hiatus, Swift returned with fresh productions that have already earned support from the likes of Andy C, Sub Focus, Netsky, Chase & Status, Friction, The Prototypes, Crissy Cris, and Bailey. With international tours and new collaborations in the works, Mampi Swift continues to push the boundaries of drum & bass, proving he remains one of the genreβs most vital and creative voices.
