Multi-genre, instrumental, electronic dance music. The live band has influences of swing and ska, funk, folk, and filth, and wields trumpet, flute, guitar, mandolin, keyboard, percussion, and a shit load of squelch!
Captain Flatcap is both the live 3-piece band and the DJ Chris Rotherham. We’ve been following them for a couple years now and have always been impressed as they continue to up the bar each live performance.

The barmy steam-punk world of Professor Elemental is coming crashing into The Lanes. The man has a message for you, “Sit down and I’ll brew you a nice Hip Hop number, stir in some comedy and then serve it with scones.” An award winning Hip Hop artist and accomplished host, he first got noticed with the track ‘Cup Of Brown Joy’ which notched up over a million hits. This was followed by my scuffle with Mr B, resulting in the video ‘Fighting Trousers’.
Expect a lively combination of comedy & music with some friendly audience banter and plenty of improvisation.
