Review of We Ramping by Randall

‘Bare jungle skanking…’ MC Supa’s vocal isn’t wide of the mark on ‘We Ramping’ a collaboration between jungle godfather Randall and Intrigue Music’s head honcho Ben Soundscape that proves that they definitely aren’t ramping!

The track builds through lush pads and the Mobb Deep  ‘Check it out now’ sample keep things building nicely until it drops when -pow- the reverse sub bass kicks in and the full vocal booms out over this lovely little roller, Supa taking no prisoners as he keeps the track moving. The vocal takes a backseat through the second half of the track letting the music get it’s skank on, the bass wobbles on the breakdowns combine with the pad work to add up to that old school jungle flavour you would expect to find from such long time stalwarts of the scene.

Taken from the ‘Intrigue 12’ album created to celebrate 12 years of Bristol’s infamous Intrigue night, the rest of the album features tracks from Zero T, Break and many more.. It’s released on March 16th so go check it out!
